Runners Blah

I started running almost one year ago and I honestly have loved it. I have completed two 5k's and have played with the idea of training for a half marathon. However, after our move I really struggled to stay focused with my running since I no longer had a running buddy. I ran a few times, but was not pushing myself or making myself run the distance I was running before our move. Well, after several weeks of inconsistency I have found myself back at the drawing board. I have been really discouraged because I love running and the feeling of accomplishment that it provides. So I have decided to start back at the beginning. As you may recall I previously used a training tool called Couch 2 5k and that is what I am going to use again. I have started back at week one and it should take me 9 weeks to get back to where I need to be in order to start training for this......

I know....I'm crazy. I have decided to make running the Disney half marathon my ultimate running goal. My former running buddy emailed me today and asked me to consider running the princess half. So, this post is simply to keep myself accountable. Since I currently do not have a running partner I am going to try and post my weekly runs either on here, on Facebook or on twitter. I have 6 months to train and I plan to use the Jeff Galloway walk/run method.

Also, since I am starting at the very beginning I would love to have a new running buddy. If any of my Louisville friends would like to join me I would be thrilled! I run in the late afternoon/evenings twice a week and there will be one weekend run. Let me know if any of you want to join me. Even if you don't live near me, but would like to become accountable to each other that would be awesome too!

Good for you and Leslie! I haven't been running lately either. I just haven't made it a priority with school, work and the heat. There is a website called dailymile.com that you can track your runs on. Just thought I'd throw that out there!
