I just got back from the windy city.....

This past weekend Aletheia went to Chicago(aka. Windy City)! We had a mini concert at a Christian school on Friday afternoon and then on Sunday morning we led worship at a church. Sunday night we had a full concert at Dan's(Acoustic guitar, lead vocals) home church. So we had Friday night and all day Saturday to hang out in Chicago! It was a blast! I loved being in the city, but defiantly know that I could never live in a city that big. The weather was beautiful, cold, and windy! I got to wear my coat, and on Sunday night as we were driving back to school it snowed a little. The concerts went great and God really worked in my life. He renewed me in a much needed way and I am so thankful for that. Things have been so crazy at school, and I have more homework that I can even bear thinking about. I am really thankful for the weekend I had away with my Aletheia family! It was the first time Ethan and I had been away since we got to school and I missed him like crazy, but he was able to get a good bit of homework done! I have added a tone of picture with this post and I hope that you enjoy them!

Down Town Chicago...Sears Tower! One of my Aletheia sisters, Holly. She is getting married in December and is going to be very missed.

The colors of the trees were so amazingly beautiful!

This photo is for Abby!!

This is our director Dr.Platt!! It had been raining and his hair had gotten all messed up! He is the best director in the world!!

Standing in front of the Chicago River!

This is all of Aletheia! It is our reflection in this huge thing call the BEAN. You will see it in a photo to follow.

Oh the things we do...

About 2 weeks ago Kendall came to me with an idea she had gotten from her hairdresser. Kendall has been trying to strip her hair of it's color so that it will go back to her natural color. Her hairdresser gave her an idea that would save her a good bit of money. She told Kendall to by some kool-aid and mix it in with shampoo. It is supposed to strip your hair of all the nasty things that our hair holds onto, and it was supposed to strip some of Kendall's color out. Well, she didn't want to try it alone so I told her I would do it with her, even though I don't have any color in my hair. I figured it would still be good for my hair to get rid of all the dirty things that could be keeping my natural color for looking its best :) So we mixed up the kool-aid with our shampoo and after rubbing it into our hair we were supposed to wrap it up and let it sit for 30 minutes. Let me just tell you that it was about the longest 30 minutes of my life thus far. It burnt the fire out of our ears and the edges of our head. It was miserable and it didn't even strip any color our of Kendall's hair. It did make our hair look shinny for a day or so, but that's about it :) We still had a blast doing it and I can promise you that we won't forget the day we put kool-aid in our hair!

PS. Ethan still thinks that Kendall's hairdresser was just trying to play a joke on us :)

Showing off our lovey mixture :)
I love this photo...it always makes me smile!
Here we both are once we realized how stupid we looked....haha!

Chad + Amber's Surprise Visit!

Last Thursday night Amber and Chad came to Boyce for a surprise visit!! I cannot tell you just how excited I was to see them, hug them, and spend time with them!! Ethan had been working hard to keep me from finding out and little did I know that most all my friends knew as well! Ethan told me that he was going to hang out with some of his friends back at his dorm and that he would come see later on that night. I had no idea that he was going to pick Amber and Chad up from the air port. Ethan called me and asked if I wanted to come down stairs and say goodnight...to my surprise he wasn't alone!!

Their visit was a much needed one and Ethan and I really enjoyed being with them! The weather was perfect and we loved not having to do anything other than what we wanted to do! I had been really homesick over break and am so thankful that Chad and Amber came to visit! It was a blast!!

I didn't cry when saying bye to them at the air port, but once Ethan and I drove off I just leaned my head on his shoulder and cried. It was sad to see them leave, but I can't wait to be with them again as well as with the rest of my family in just about a month for Shannon's wedding!! I am so glad that Chad and Amber came and loved every minute of their visit!!

I was so excited I didn't know what to do with my self.

We took them to the park to see the creek! The weather was amazing!

Amber said to do something funny so this is what Ethan did! I had no idea what to do..as you can tell :)

About to go see the movie Fireproof! It was amazing!! If you haven't see it yet you MUST go! It was well worth it!

Cherokee Park

Cherokee Park is located less than 5 minutes from school. Ethan and I have driven through there many times and gotten lost in there :) but we have never taken the time to stop at one of the many places with trails. Today we were driving through there and we saw this creek, so Ethan pulled off and we walked down to it. It was so nice outside today and there were a tone of people out and about. It was fun to walk on the rocks like I did when I was little at the creeks near my families cabin in North Carolina. It brought back so many memories! Both Ethan and I love the mountains, so it was nice to "feel" like we were in the mountains even though we weren't :)

Tagged...

Rules:
Link to the person who tagged you.
Post the rules on your blog.
List 6 unspectacular quirks you have.
Tag 6 bloggers by linking them.
Leave a comment on each taggee's blog to let them know they've been tagged.

1. I can't stand it when the covers on my bed are messed up. I don't mind if people are on my bed, but once they get off I have to fix the covers.

2. I put chap stick on all of the time. I hate the way chap lips feel. It has become such a part of me that if I don't have my chap stick with me I begin to freak out.

3.The clothes in my closet are color coordinated. The length of sleeves also must be in order going from shortest to longest. My skirts are divided by blacks, browns, and colors.

4. I can't go to bed with a messy room. I will clean it 2 or 3 times throughout the day and then once more before I go to bed. No clothes can be on the floor at any time and my bed must be made(covers straightened) before I leave my room for the day.

5. I am religious when it comes to Sunday afternoon naps. If I don't get one, you will know later on that day. When I was at home I would nap for a good 3 plus hours, but up here at school I am lucky if I get an hour. I still take what I can get.

6. I check to see if my door is locked a good 3 times before getting into bed. Even though I know it is locked I still check it over and over again...just in case.

I am going to tag Mrs.Jeannie, Amber, Mrs.Pam, Mrs.Tessa , and Mrs.Stephanie.
PS. If you don't feel like doing it....no worries :)

Update....

Things have been super busy around here. Midterms finished today and Fall Reading Days, as Dr.Mohler calls them, have begun! Most everyone had gone home for the week, which makes me sad, but I am so glad that I still have Ethan here as well as some of my other friends! I am sick for the first time since being away from home and it stinks for many reasons. I just wish I was home with my family. Ethan is doing his best to take care of me, but has to work this weekend. I have been shut up in my room most of the night reading and sleeping. I have finished one book and made some progress with another! Let me just tell you I have never in my life read this much at one time. I have 7 different books going right now and I often can't decide which one to read next :) I am really enjoying my classes, but have to work extra hard to stay alert. Ethan loves all of his classes and is doing really well. It is so awesome to watch his knowledge of God's word grow and his passion for Christ and ministry grow. We have joinied as watch care members(members at this church, but still members at Trinity) at an awesome church. Ethan has started a Pastoral internship under the pastor and is really excited about that. I am singing in the Choir and am a part of the praise team as a backup. The families at this church are so welcoming and friendly. Ethan and I really enjoy the worship and the preaching. We are so thankful that God lead us to a biblical church. We are excited about the coming years as a part of this church and love that we are able to be so involved so soon!

We miss everyone so much and believe it or not we really miss Keystone. We are so excited about flying home for Shannon's wedding in just a few weeks! I pick up my bridesmaid dress within the next week and am really looking forward to being a part of this exciting day in Shannon and Thad's life! We can't wait to see everyone! We love you all!

Hall Ball!

Some of you may have already seen my photos on facebook, but I wanted to also blog about this so that those of you who do not have facebook could see and hear about hall ball! Hall ball is a huge dodge ball game. Each brother/sister hall goes up against each other with the goal of becoming hall ball champs! My hall Koinona along with our brother hall(which Ethan happens to live on) got decked out in our hall color blue! We had a blast and even though we didn't win it was still well worth it! I have never seen people get so into dodge ball. It was so much fun!

Here are most of the girls on my hall-plus 2 extras :)
Jessie and I showing off our tatts :)
Rachel , Myself, and our RL Katie

PS. One of our friends who is from Orange Park started going to Boyce this fall. His name is John and he is the Dicks gradson. He told Ethan that we just can't get away from Keystone colors :)
