Reese's Wannabe Peanut Butter Cups!

Reese's Wannabe Peanut Butter Cups/Eggs

- 1 cup creamy peanut butter-
1/4 c melted butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 - 2  Tbsp milk
- 1 1/2 cups Wilton chocolate candy melts (or melting chocolate of your choice)
- toothpicks
- waxed paper

1. Mix peanut butter, powdered sugar and butter together until a soft dough forms. If it's a little bit dry or too sticky, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk. Stir until it becomes the consistency of Play-Doh.

2. Dump the dough onto waxed paper and pat it into a large circle, about 1/2 to 2/3 inch thick. Use a small cookie cutter (we used a circle Play-Doh punch) to make small shapes out of the dough. Arrange the cut-outs onto a plate and put them in the freezer for 10 minutes.

3. Melt chocolate in a glass container for 30 seconds in the microwave. Remove, stir and heat another 30 seconds if needed. Repeat until the chocolate is runny enough for dipping. (Do not overheat!)

4. Remove peanut butter cut-outs from the freezer. Use a toothpick to skewer one of the shapes through the side of the shape (not through the top.) Dip it in the chocolate and gently shake off the excess into the bowl. Place the candy on waxed paper to harden. (If there's a spot where the peanut butter didn't get completely covered – usually where the toothpick was – just drop a little bit of chocolate on that spot with a spoon

Oh my word! These are to die for! I found this recipe on Pinterest! They taste so much like real reese's and I have to say Ethan and I love Reese's! Reese's are hands down my most favorite candy! These are so easy to make and I think you will love them! Let me know if you try them!

Anthem 5K

On Saturday my running buddy, Ashley, and I ran the Anthem 5K! The money raised from the event went to support a local charity for children with disabilities. Over 9,000 people ran/walked this event! I am proud to say that Ashley and I finished in the top 3,000! It was a cold morning and we were't really prepared for that. We ended up running in our North Face jackets, but if we wouldn't have had those I think we may have froze! We had a great time and enjoyed our run! This was my 3rd 5k and I ran my best time to date. We completed the run in about 31 minutes. I was pretty pumped! Here are some pictures from the event!

On Friday evening we went and picked up our race packets!

Race morning! Trying not to freeze!

Lots and lots of people!

On and Elvis ran the race with us! Check out his purple getup!

Ethan's parents come to visit!

This weekend Ethan's parents came for a visit! We have been counting down the days till their arrival for awhile now and we absolutely loved having this with us! They arrived Friday, not long after I got home from work and they left about an hour ago. We are so thankful for the time we had with them and it honestly did our souls good! We miss our families dearly and this visit was just what we needed!

On Friday we spent time catching up while we waited for Ethan to get off work and then we headed our to dinner. We finished off our night just talking and enjoying each others company! Here is a picture of Ethan's dad and I after they arrived!
Ethan had a work for a few hours on Saturday morning so we just relaxed at home till he got off and then we headed to Lifeway and then went to lunch at a local burger joint that we love!

After lunch we went to Churchill Downs! Home of the Kentucky Derby! They have a museum and it was really fun! We got to take a tour of the track and the grounds as well as enjoy the actual museum! Most defiantly worth it! Here is a picture of Ethan and his mom in front of Churchill Downs!

Ethan and I!

They had simulators where you could race! So fun, even though I lost every time I raced!

Ethan and I "with" Animal Kingdom. The horse that won last years Kentucky Derby!

Ethan and I racing!

This morning we all went to church and then lunch and then Mom and Dad Crowder headed home. They have a pretty long drive ahead of them and they plan to split it between today and tomorrow. Pray that they make it home safe.

We loved are time with them and are so thankful for how they spoiled us while they were here! We are so blessed with such wonderful families!

Life in the Ville

It's been almost 7 months since our move. It seems a little unreal to me. Over half a year is a long time. It's craziness. Anyways, we are doing great and I thought I would give everyone an update on what we have been up to!

What Ethan is up to: Ethan is getting settled back into the routine of classes. He is taking 15 credit hours this semester and has loads of reading, but he is doing a great job of staying on top of his assignments. He has some tough classes this semester, and his dedication is simply impressive if you ask me. I may be a little bias but I am really proud of him! I'm not sure if I ever mentioned that he started a new job back in december and he is loving it! It has been a huge blessing in many ways. Two if which are with his schedule and financially! He doesn't ever work in the evenings and I love it because he gets to be home when I am home! He is also beginning an internship with our church and we are both excited about it! He does a fantastic job of balancing school, work, and me :)

What I have been up to: I registered to run a 5k in about 4 weeks with my running buddy Ashley! I am pretty excited about it! I love running, but sometimes lack the motivation I need to push myself. Registering for this race was just what I needed! I am still working as a receptionist at a local doctor's office and I enjoy my job there! I am thankful for a short commute! It makes a world of a difference. I am taking 2 Seminary Wives classes this semester. Each of them are 6 weeks long. One if called Baptist Beliefs and the other is Hospitality. I really enjoy SWI because it provides me an opportunity to meet other seminary wives and to learn some extremely helpful things.

I still struggle with being homesick and I miss our family dearly. Some days I feel like I haven't seen them in years and like I am missing so much, but I am thankful for the opportunity to be at Southern and for Ethan to be able to study at such a great institute. The Lord is continually teaching me that my complete trust must always remain in Him. He is faithful and I have seen His faithfulness first hand over and over again these past 7 months. Not only has He provided for our financial needs, but also through friendships, and through our marriage. He has grown our marriage in more ways than I can explain and I am so thankful that He saw fit to give me Ethan. I am so proud of be Ethan's wife and am thankful for how the Lord is leading Ethan and in return how Ethan is leading our family!

We were made for each other!

Absolutely the love of my life! I have no idea what I would do without him! He pushes me to be more like Christ in every aspect of life and he loves me continually. Even though I know I drive him nuts sometimes!

We are excited about the opportunities that the Lord is providing us with and are thankful for His sovereignty in our lives! We miss everyone so very much and look forward to our next visit home! Hopefully sooner rather than later :)
